Regular, Full-Time, RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the University of Hawaii Maui College (UHMC), Rural Hawaii 1 (RH1), located in Kahului, Maui, Hawaii. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.


DUTIES: Provides program support to two projects in the RH1 Grant (the Sustainability Project and the Water/Waste Water Project) in screening of program participants, registering students, booking classes, hiring of instructors, supporting curriculum development, assisting with participant and industry newsletter preparation, tracking project deliverables, preparing and submitting of invoices, and providing general support. Disseminates information to participants and all necessary offices as required, including faxing and mailing. Assists with newsletters and other marketing tools. Arranges for and participates in the delivery of training projects. Assists with participant and industry recruitment. Provides fiscal and administrative support to the projects.

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree from an accredited community college (or two (2) years of college level coursework) in Liberal Arts, Business, or any related fields of study. EXPERIENCE: Three to five (3-5) years of experience in project/business administrative operations (Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Liberal Arts, Business, or any related fields of study and six (6) months of experience in project/business administrative operations may be substituted). Experience should include word processing, database and/or spreadsheet applications, bookkeeping/accounting, administrative assistant/secretarial, and organizing/planning. ABIL/KNOW/SKILLS: Knowledge of general office procedures. Skills in using Microsoft Excel in the creation, and updating of, spreadsheets. Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions. Must be able to analyze, interpret, and use sound logic and judgment in application for a variety of financial/administrative rules and regulations. Proficient in use of personal computers with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office programs. Proficient in drafting/proof-reading memos, letters and e-mails for general office correspondence. Must have problem solving and critical analysis skills.

SECONDARY QUALIFICATIONS: General knowledge of University of Hawaii Maui College/University of Hawaii, RCUH, State, and Federal rules, regulations, practices, policies and procedures. Working knowledge of continuing education programs, processes, and practices.
