The Charge Nurse I functions under the supervision of the Director of Pavilion Nursing. The Charge Nurse I provides leadership in the management of nursing staff ensuring the provision of care to the patient population in a professional manner. Utilizes the nursing process and the principles of Performance Improvement in collaboration with other health team members. Acts as a liaison between staff and management, enforcing policy and procedures of the department and carrying out management objectives. Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment through the use of acceptable standards of care. Supports an organizational culture for Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence Standards to all customer groups.



1. A RN currently licensed by the State of Texas, or eligible to obtain a TX RN license (Restriction Free)
2. Current BLS certification upon hire/promotion
3. PAB and renewed every twelve months (preferably one month before, during, or after the birth month)

For continued employment all licensed staff will be required to pass annual competency/return demonstration on high risk, low volume, and new equipment and others as identified by department director/educator.
