The Director manages the operations of the assigned department or departments under the direction of a senior management member. These duties include: recommending a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care, providing for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in the department, participating in selecting outside sources for needed services, and managing the financial and business and ethical aspects of the department. The Director collaborates with senior management, medical staff, and department directors to create a climate and structure that encourages staff to set and achieve goals in providing quality and cost-effective services to both internal and external customers.
Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process – assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment for identified patient population per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Documents patient care administered. Promotes interdisciplinary communication and care. The delivery of care is based on the age, physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient. Demonstrates basic and unit specific competencies.
Current RN license
Graduate of an accredited nursing school
5-7 years ER RN experience
3-5 years clinical management experience – Director experience highly preferred
