POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Nurse, under the supervision of Director and/or Clinical Coordinator is responsible for conducting initial and on-going assessments, developing the patient plan of care through the use of Clinical Pathways; directing and delivering patient care, patient and family education, identifying and correcting variances from the patient's Clinical Pathway, and completing discharge planning. S/he follows accepted nursing practice and the policy/procedures at Flagstaff Medical Center.
S/he assists and/or performs procedures of all the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric that are within the scope of their unit specific Skills Summation. S/he seeks assistance and support when necessary, assist in data collection, organizes those aspects of patient care for which s/he is responsible, and maintains accountability for own practice and those functions delegated to the Technician. Within a specified work period, plans and implements care that is consistent with overall admission to post-discharge plan. S/he practices within accepted ethnical and legal parameters of nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:Education:
Graduate from accredited School of Nursing Required
B.S.N. - preferred
Experience:
1 year ED/Trauma experience Preferred
License/Certificate:
Current RN license within the State of Arizona Required
BLS (American Heart Assoc.) Required
ACLS Required upon hire
CEN/CCRN preferred
PALS and/or ENPC Required upon hire
TNCC/ATCN Required once in career
