The Hospice RN utilizes the nursing process to coordinate the interdisciplinary approach to patient care for her/his team of patients. He/she promotes continuity through communication of the patient's plan, condition and progress toward outcomes. The Hospice RN participates in and demonstrates effective education and support for patients and their families to meet their physiological, psychological, and spiritual needs. He/she practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act, specialty standards, and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
2 year/Associate degree required
4 year/Bachelor degree preferred
Previous healthcare experience required
1-3 years Hospice and/or home based health care delivery experience preferred
Analytical, Organizational, Critical Thinking and Verbal Communication skills required
Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize preferred
License, Registration and/or Certification:
Registered Nurse (RN) Licensure in the state of Kansas required
Healthcare Provider CPR (American Heart Association) certification required
Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care preferred
