3 South – Medical/Surgical/Oncology Telemetry
3 South is an 18 bed unit with telemetry monitoring capability. The staff provides care for a diverse group of medical surgical patients ranging from young adult to geriatric.
The unit specializes in the care of oncology patients in need of chemotherapy treatment, or who are immune-compromised secondary to chemotherapy. On hire nurses are trained and certified in the monitoring and administration of Chemotherapy. Other patient types include surgical overflow and non-infected medical patients. The unit is comprised of all private rooms. Patients with cardiac history that are stable with no active cardiac symptoms, dysrhythmias, and / or elevated cardiac markers may be admitted to the unit. Quality improvement initiatives include Fall Prevention, Restraint monitoring, Core measures, Bedside Shift report, Pain Assessment/Management and patient satisfaction (HCAHPS) initiatives.
The RN is responsible for the delivery of quality patient care on the assigned hospital unit.
The quality of care given will be in keeping with the philosophy, mission and values of the hospital and the Department of Nursing and will maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.
- Must have a Florida RN license
- Must have a BLS from the American Heart Association
- Previous nursing or patient care expereince is preferred
