Part-time days, 7am - 7pm (2 shifts per week)
Coordinates the assignment of patient care beds within the hospital. Performs initial admission screens using approved clinical criteria to assure patient admissions and bed assignments are consistent with current policy and procedure. Works in collaboration with multiple departments within the hospital and facilitates regularly scheduled bed management meetings with hospital staff to identify and communicate bed utilization issues. Identifies, trends, and reports barriers to patient throughput.
EDUCATION REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing, BSN preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED:
3-5 years nursing experience in acute care hospital setting. Previous bed management or patient flow experience preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated skills in organization, verbal and written communications, customer service, math, analysis, reading, following instruction, basic computer usage. Ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written and electronic formats. Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking abilities with pro-active decision-making and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
RN license in the State of Florida. BLS
