Under general supervision, facilitates appointments, class registrations and referrals.
Responsible for facilitating patient appointments, class registrations and referrals. Provides facility information in accordance with established policies and procedures of OU Medical Center. In collaboration with the physician, patient, the patient’s family and other members of the healthcare team, assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates appointments and services. Works with the physician and patient to develop an appropriate action plan for care. Documents and implements the physician’s recommendations for care. Using a software tool, obtains appropriate information through the interview process when doing referrals for individuals. Facilitates the receiving of and dissemination of needed paperwork including patient records, insurance information, insurance authorization and referrals. Identifies and coordinates healthcare resources and/or referrals for patients and families. Ensures that the educational needs of the patient and family are met.
Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
Three (3) years of general nursing experience.
Current licensure in the State of Oklahoma as a Registered Nurse.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Relevant skills and knowledge of an RN. Ability to resolve problems and successfully implement resolutions. Ability to work well in a team environment to ensure quality patient care. Excellent public relations skills. Possess a good working knowledge of physicians, clinics and services that are available. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Good Windows-based computer skills and typing ability. Ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):
Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop, reach and bend. Work involves considerable sitting and reaching. Sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity is required to perform assigned tasks and to use a computer. May on occasion be exposed to communicable diseases. May on occasion be required to lift, move or carry objects weighing up to 35 pounds. Will frequently be performing repetitive motions in the accomplishment of tasks. Must be able to perform effectively under stressful conditions.
