The Clinical Liaison is the key facilitator of patients moving to the hospital's acute rehabilitation unit. The Clinical Liaison is responsible for establishing close professional relationships with key physicians outside of Research Medical Center, hospital discharge planners and social workers, patients and their families, key physicians as well as other potential sources of referral. This individual ensures appropriate patient placement through completion of clinical assessments and screening in conjunction with the Rehab Medical Director. This position will also be responsible for working through patient insurance issues related to admission to inpatient rehab. Must be able to work independently out in the community and surrounding areas in representing Research Medical Center and HCA hospitals.
Education: Bachelor's or Associate's Degree from accredited institution Nursing or Physical Therapy.
Current state of Missouri license for registered nurse or physical therapist.
If a registered nurse, Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) preferred upon hire or CRRN must be acquired within one year.
American Heart Association Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification required.
Experience: Three years experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation required.
Equipment/Machine Skills: Meditech, PC, organization work tools.
