Position Summary

The RN III Specialty Nurse demonstrates a proficient level of nursing practice to efficiently provide safe, effective, and holistic patient and family centered care for the patients and families in the Pulmonary Clinic and commonly cares for patients from neonate to adult providing comprehensive medical evaluation and management of acute and chronic pulmonary diseases in infants and children. The RN III Specialty Nurse addresses the patient's complex needs in a self-directed, interdisciplinary role, within a specialized area of clinical practice. This nurse serves across the ACH care continuum (inpatient, outpatient, surgical services, and home care) and acts as a clinical resource for patients, families, staff, and community providers. Based on increasing knowledge, skills, and experience, the proficient nurse perceives situations holistically and plans and adjusts accordingly. They are able to quickly recognize variations from the anticipated course, think critically, modify plans, make appropriate decisions, recognize salient patient care issues, and focus on long term goals. The RN III promotes nursing excellence by acting as a role model, participating in shared decision making and evidence based practice, coaching and mentoring of others and applying clinical leadership skills to assist with problem-solving in their assigned area(s).

Position Duties

1.

Nursing Process and Clinical Responsibilities

Nursing practice demonstrates and promotes excellence in the application of the ACH Model of Patient and Family-Centered Care.

Position Qualifications

Education Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma
  • Field of Study: RN

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Field of Study: BSN Note: Must complete certification specific to patient population by December 2015.

Experience Requirements

3 years total experience required required as an RN and / or demonstrated performance of 100% at the previous level within the Nursing Achieve career ladder.
