From primary care to robotic surgery and ground-breaking cancer treatment, FHMG doctors and staff provide treatment and care for our patients at their practices and at Florida Hospital's seven campuses in Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Celebration, East Orlando, Kissimmee, Orlando, Winter Park and in Tavares at Florida Hospital Waterman.

Registered Nurse - Oncology

General Summary:
Performs a variety of nursing care duties specific to the oncology patient. Accommodates services and practices for the physician while following established standards and policies. Candidate must have a demonstrated knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to evaluate and provide chemotherapy to patients. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care and chemotherapy to the oncology patient. Knowledge of chemotherapy agents, medical equipment, and supplies used to administer patient care. Knowledge of common safety hazards and pre-cautions to establish a safe working environment. Knowledge of the individual roles during a CODE situation. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Skill in applying and modifying principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Skill in identifying problems and recommending solutions. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports and responding to correspondence. Skill in developing and maintaining quality assurance. Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining an effective working relationship with patients, medical staff, and public. Ability to maintain quality control standards. Demonstrated ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Performing other job related duties as assigned, needed or requested is a must.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Ability to apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and public

Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments

Strong communication skills

Excellent computer skills

Required Education/Experience:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing

One to two years of professional nursing experience

Preferred Education/Experience:
One year physician office experience

Bachelor's degree

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:
Current, valid Florida State of Board Nursing Registered Nursing License

CPR Certification

National Oncology certification preferred.

National Chemotherapy certification desirable.

Florida Hospital chemotherapy certification required.
