Under the general supervision of the Radiology Director, Medical Director and the RN Radiology Coordinator, the Radiology RN assists with patient care in diagnostic, CT, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, MRI, Mammography, and Interventional procedures.
May also be assigned to assist with Gamma Knife following appropriate screening and training.
Assisting with CAPPS following appropriate orientation.
This is achieved by performing nursing patient assessment in accordance with the guidelines established by the facility.
The Radiology RN maintains accurate documentation of patient data while in the radiology department.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of patient physiologic monitors and performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation as needed.
Will instruct and aid in the training of Radiology and Nuclear Medicine students in clinical nursing practices.
Rotating standby call for interventional procedures is a requirement of this position.
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing and or Bachelor’s Degree in Science in Nursing
Current and valid license from the Missouri Board of Nursing
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Knowledgeable in handling controlled medications in Radiology according to hospital protocol.
Minimum of 1 year work experience in critical care unit including experience in monitoring patient’s vital signs including cardiac rhythms.
Good problem and organization skills.
Must demonstrate good follow up skills.
Ability to work independently and with a multidisciplinary group of physicians.
Able to remove barriers for patient care and coordinate the patient care process using available resources.
Patient care monitoring equipment including emergency carts, computers, RIS/HIS, phone, fax and paging system
Flexibility and able to multitask
