The registered nurse is responsible to take primary responsibility to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of each assigned patient. Provide direct patient care. Supervise the activities of nursing staff members. Anticipate patients needs. Follow-up on all care related activities and assure all physician orders are accurately transcribed and carried out in a timely manner. Coordinate the plan of care. Conduct patient teaching specific to disease entity and home management. Actively participate in assuring care continuum. Collaborate with other nursing and ancillary services to assure seamless communication and uninterrupted patient care. Model leadership behaviors. Foster a spirit of collaboration and teamwork. Mentor peers and colleagues. Responsible for the interpretation of the electronic fetal monitoring strip, assessment of the mother and fetus in utero and communications of that status to the medical provider. CA RN LICENSE Bachelor's degree preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret hospital policies and procedures, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and procedures and document in the medical record. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers, patients, physicians, family members and the general public. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as weights, dosages, flow rates, proportions, percentages and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must have ability to critically think and problem solve. Current license to practice Registered Nursing in the State of California. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. ACLS required with in 6 months of hire. Additional requirements specific to NON Versant RN students are; NRP certification within 2 months of hire. Basic electronic fetal monitoring within 2 months of hire. 8 to 15 hours on Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 6 months of hire. Additional requirements specific to Versant RN students are; to have NRP and Certificate of completion in Fetal Monitoring upon completion of Versant program and prior to receiving a patient assignment without a preceptor. For all EFM update of 8 to 15 hours every 2 years or NCC certification as required every 3 years. Versant Student or a minimium of 6 months experience withi the last year.

This 78-bed hospital also offers a full range of services including emergency services, obstetrics and women's care, medical/surgical care, and orthopedic services. In 2009, the Orthopedic and Hand Center opened offering comprehensive orthopedic services to the community. This facility employs over 400 people.
