Minimum one year recent (within the past 24 months) PACU and/or Critical Care experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Providing nursing care in the Post-Operative Care Unit Using knowledge of current critical care practices and ASPAN Standards.
Assess and documents review of systems, physical assessment, discharge and teaching needs of assigned patient.
Identifies nursing diagnosis and formulates patient care goals and interventions consistent with identified patient needs.
Adheres to guidelines of nurse practice act and demonstrates clinical competency in caring for assigned post anesthesia patient.
Chart is checked for pertinent data and verification of surgical procedure and surgical site (surgical site policy is adhered to).
Demonstrates flexibility in assignments.
Demonstrates clinical proficiency as documented in the unit specific skill checklist.
Adheres to policies and procedures directing the administration of medications and intravenous therapy.
Interprets and implements physician orders for patient care.
Appropriately responds to Perioperative patient care needs through monitoring interpretation of ECG, O2 Saturation and ventilation, etc.
Demonstrates the use of the nursing process as documented in the admission assessment and PACU Record.
