DUTIES: Duty location will be the North Little Rock Campus

The Special Projects Registered Nurse (RN) for Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Transformational Care Initiative for the 21st Century (T21) projects are implemented and completed in a timely fashion. This may involve providing direct patient care or overseeing and guiding clinical staff in the preformance of project-related patient care activities. As such, the Special Projects RN works under the direct supervision of the Director, GRECC. As the Special Projects RN, the nurse is required to perform functions typical of a licensed registered nurse. In addition, the incumbent supports, facilitates and ensures completion of all aspects of the projects and makes significant contributions to the achievement of the projects’ overall goals. This position requires va rious skills and knowledge not only in clinical provision of nursing care and other health services but also in all phases of quality improvement including training of clinical staff, assisting with data analysis, providing feedback to the staff, and assessing the impact of these activities on the outcomes of interest.

Relocation expenses will not be reimbursed.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Citizen of the United States.

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia . In cases of graduates of foreign schools of professional nursing, possession of current, full, active and unrestricted registration will meet the requirement of graduation from an approved school of professional nursing.

Must be proficient in spoken and written English.

Current certification in BLS

Applicant's education and length of nursing practice (experience) will be considered by a Nurse Professional Standards Board in determining the grade and salary of the applicant selected. The recommended salary may be at any point in the range listed for this vacancy.
