The RN delegates and collaborates with other staff members.
Plan for appropriate patient populations and manages plan of care with interdisciplinary team through ongoing collaboration and use of care plans. Participates in development of collaborative care.
Coordinates discharge and outpatient plan of care with patients(s), family.
Collects data to utilize and analyze outcome-based care management variance reports to evaluate patient progress.
Communicates with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions including patient/family/significant other.
Sets patient care priorities.
Responsible for providing care at the surface (sea level) as well as being the inside attendant to depths as far as 3ATA in a monoplace chamber and 6 ATA in a muliplace chamber.
Responsible for total patient care, including venipunctures, ear irrigation, invasive and non-invasive monitoring and for the safe performance of hyerbaric oxygen treatments.
Delegates’ appropriate tasks to licensed staff, monitoring and maintaining accountability for the quality of care.
Utilizes interdependent team decisions making to ensure quality of care.
Develops and coordinates the education plan appropriate to the patient/significant other family learning style. Communicates plan to patient/significant other/family and or interdisciplinary care team members.
Manages resources, which promote cost effectiveness, efficient operation of unit, and positive outcomes.
Demonstrates critical thinking and independent decision making; utilizing policies and procedures, standards of care and data analysis. (e.g., manages crisis prevention and intervention at a unit level).
Performs comprehensive patient assessments, anticipating potential care problems and prioritizing care needs in order to effectively provide optimum care.
In collaboration with staff members, provides bedside patient care, implementing the interventions identified in the plan of care.
Document patient’s plan of care and interventions, according to policy.
Initiates and communicates change inpatient care delivery based on continual evaluation of progress according to outcome-based care plan.
Functions as the primary provider of TCPO2 exams for the center and orients new employees to TCPO2 testing.
Collaborates and communicates with physicians to ensure quality care.
Initiates collaboration with physician and interdisciplinary team members by effective communication of the pertinent patient information to insure continuity of care.
Actively participates in at least one hospital committee and center committees.
Actively participates in policy review and revisions.
Actively participates in center Performance Improvement Process
Make recommendations to improve patient car delivery process.
Acts as a clinical resource to manage difficult patient/family situations.
Serves as a mentor for the entire staff and preceptor for new staff members,
with focus on operation and maintenance of Hyperbaric Chambers.
Provides department and hospital inservice education at least twice per year.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. (BSN preferred)
- Current state Registered Nurse Licensure, within state of practice.
- Current ACLS certification required. Emergency Nurse certification preferred.
- Critical Care & Wound Care nursing experience (preferred).
- Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Training (required).
