JOB

SUMMARY

Responsible to ValleyCare Health Systems for supporting the hospital's mission.

Responsible to the Medical Imaging Department for the performance of diagnostic radiology procedures and ultrasound procedures while providing quality patient care. Responsible to the customer for courteous, accurate, timely service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

AND

MAJOR DUTIES

1.

Applies knowledge of radiologic technology and or Ultrasound while accurately performing an exam.

2. Performs all duties related to peripheral vascular diagnostic studies.

3.

Provides quality patient care.

4.

Performs procedures in an organized and efficient manner.

5.

Operates equipment safely.

6.

Participates in the education of Student Radiologic Technologists.

7.

Participates in radiology performance improvement programs.

8.

Processes information in the appropriate areas.

9.

Instructs patient prior to all exams.

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

EDUCATION

AND

EXPERIENCE

Completion of a college or technical training program in Radiologic Technology and Ultrasound.

After orientation, up to3 month’s experience on this job is required to perform essential functions.

LICENSURE, REGISTRATION

AND

/OR CERTIFICATION

Current license by the state of

Ohio

as Radiologic Technologist by the Ohio Department of Health required.

Certification in Radiologic Technology by ARRT required.

Certification in Ultrasound by ARDMS required.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE

AND

SKILLS

Broad knowledge in professional area and in radiology and ultrasound procedures.

Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and JCAHO standards related to radiology.

LANGUAGE

AND

MATH

SKILLS

Ability to read and follow simple verbal or written instructions, and write legibly.

Ability to perform basic math (add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s) using units of measure for weight, volume and distance.

COMPUTER OPERATIONS

Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, basic spreadsheets and work with graphics.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR PATIENT

CARE

Provides diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to the patient based on physician orders. (examples: medication administration, diet instructions, patient education, etc.). Direct result of any error could have serious consequences for the patient
