GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under general supervision, the Rug Assistant is responsible for manual work in the selling process by flipping rugs for the customers; loading merchandise for the customers; receiving, storing, distributing and monitoring of goods, materials, and supplies within their department. Perform other related work as required.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Providing a variety of task such occasionally unloading trucks and stocking merchandise in appropriate areas, as well as assisting rug sales associates in the selling process by flipping rugs so the customer can view the pattern. Provides customer service by assisting customers in loading purchased merchandise. Reports to and completes other assignments as directed by immediate supervisor or the Department Manager. Continuously adheres and enforces safety policies and procedures promoting an injury-free work environment.
Ability to repetitively lift heavy merchandise of 50+ lbs; ability to communicate effectively with team members; positive attitude when working with customers; knowledge of employment and safety procedures.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, an employee must be able to perform the following: Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, climbing, crawling, walking, pulling, lifting, talking, hearing/listening and repetitive motion.
Lifting up to 100+ lbs occasionally, up to 50+ lbs frequently, and up to 20 lbs constantly to move objects.
Occasionally works in hot and/or cold temperatures and occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
