PRN Radiology Tech, Erlanger Bledsoe Campus, CT experience
Under the direction of the Radiology Supervisor and/or Radiologist, and according to established policies and procedures, performs a variety of procedures requiring independent judgement and initiative in utilization of computerized equipment to create high quality diagnostic images. Performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations and diagnostic computerized tomography procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by the attending physician.
The employee must be able to and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
A graduate of an approved JRCERT radiologic program (The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology). ARRT Required
Prior experience in Special Procedures or an intensive on-the-job training session in Special Procedures is required.
Medical/hospital clinical experience required.
Basic computer experience required.
Prior hospital/physician office background preferred.
ARRT certified; complaint with all continuing education mandates.
ARRT registry eligible (must complete within one year).
Radiological student from an approved Radiology program that has completed all academic courses, (must be CPR certified).
ACLS certified preferred.
Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.
Must have basic computer experience.
Must be competent with office equipment (fax machine, copiers, etc.).
Competent with multi-line phone system and demonstrates excellent telephone skills.
Must be able to maintain and organize a clean working environment.
Personal appearance and decorum must be appropriate for a professional medical environment.
Responsibilities may include duties specific in one or more Radiology Departments.
Must be familiar with conventional film processing equipment.
Must be familiar with IV Contrast administration.
Should have knowledge of basic nursing care duties involved with a Special Procedure exam.
Must be able to schedule and perform multiple procedures as ordered by the physician.
Proficient in all radiology computer information systems.
Demonstrates familiarity with medical and radiology terminology.
Proficient with all processes involving completion of any radiology exam.
Demonstrates familiarity with dictation equipment.
Proficient in all duties involving presentation of films for dictation.
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills specific to the Radiology Department.
Demonstrates familiarity with specific departmental duties.
Able to determine proper treatment based on age of patient as evidenced by the Radiology Age Specific Competency Assessment.
Demonstrates competence in safely transporting and moving of patients.
