The Rainforest Cafe in Menlo Park Mall, located in Edison, NJ is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join their team and oversee kitchen operations!
At Rainforest Cafe, Executive Chefs are expected to do the following: Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food; standardize production and ensure consistent quality; establish presentation technique and quality standards; ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance; and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen. The executive chef directly supervises kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline and performance reviews.
The Executive Chef candidate must have at least 3+ years Senior level experience in a full-service, high-volume kitchen. Well-qualified candidates will have hands-on experience with food inventories and good understanding of all that impacts food cost, must be well versed in writing schedules and meeting or exceeding budgeted labor cost through effective management, and should possess strong leadership skills to motivate and develop staff. Proven tenure is required.
