Title: Senior Raw Materials Buyer / Aluminum Commodities Buyer

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Negotiate the best terms regarding: Price, quality, credit conditions,
delivery and value with raw material vendors in accordance with
the policies and procedures of the company for short term supply.
(Less than 6 months).
Secure the raw material supply for the operation in the short term. Participate in the supplier development for new vendors and
improve the actual performance. Promote a positive working
relationship between client and vendor.
Manage strategic supplier relationships including periodic cross
functional strategic supplier review sessions to drive overall supplier
Sources and selects suppliers, negotiates prices, and recommends
purchases, to obtain the best possible prices while adhering to
quality specifications, service demands and supplier innovation
Responsible for following up on orders, verifying availability and
delivery dates. Prioritizes, schedules and expedites delivery of
materials to meet target dates, prevents excessive inventory and
avoids material shortages.
Serves as a liaison between other departments and Purchasing
Department to ensure adequate supplies of materials are available
on hand when needed.
Analyze and follow the trends of the international and national
metal prices indexes with the objective to forecast contingencies or
abrupt changes in the demand and price.
Develop the purchasing raw material forecast and revise the
evaluation of the area performance indicators.
It is essential that the right candidate has experience in hedging future prices, creating purchasing models and drafting price agreements and the overall analytic abilities to go far beyond buying and selling!
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Metallurgy, Industrial or Chemical Engineering Minimum of 5 years experience in purchasing for multiple facilities Experience with developing supplier networks and implementing strategies resulting in measurable improvements High pressure die cast process knowledge is a MUST The optimal candidate will be well-versed in metallurgical requirements of multiple aluminum alloys including 319, 380 and 356
