Seeking an experienced and organized individual to create, manage and coordinate the service plans of inmates who are involved in Re-Entry Programming at the Allegheny County Jail. Coordinator will also assist the Allegheny County Jail in organizing, transforming and maintaining any pods that may be utilized for structured living environments . Position will require working across both daylight and evening shifts from Monday through Friday. Additional responsibilities will include:
*Ensuring each inmate entering the Re-Entry program has had an assessment and a service plan has been formulated to address the needs indicated in the assessment.
*Forwarding service plan to the Re-Entry Assistant so that appropriate referrals can be entered into the Allegheny County Jail Collaborative for class placement.
*Regularly reviewing the service plans of inmates in the Re-Entry Program to assure compliance.
*Screening the OMS Active Sentence Detail List for potential Re-Entry Program inmates who meet the policy guidelines to live on a structured living pod and presenting the opportunity to the identified individuals.
*Attending and participating in the Phase I and Phase II meetings.
*Meeting with Phase I clients every other week to ensure compliance to service plan and addresses any Re-Entry related needs.
*Attending and participating in the Level I bi-weekly meetings.
*Facilitating the transfer of Re-Entry Program inmates to the outside Re-Entry Specialist 60 days before the inmates minimum release date.
*Transforming pods to be utilized for a structured living environment; co-facilitating routine pod meetings with the Level Captain; working in close coordination with correctional officers on the pods to execute the Re-Entry Program goals; working as part of a team with the uniform and non-uniform staff involved with the Re-Entry Program and Re-Entry Center; organizing and providing information required for reports to the Jail administration, the Courts and the Jail Collaborative; preparing reports to the Administrator of Re-Entry Services and appropriate level Captains on the short and long term measures of success and making recommendations of changes in strategy or policy.
*Facilitating the Phase I and Phase II and Family Partners meetings in the absence of the Administrator of Re-Entry Services.
*Facilitating Re-Entry Program Presentations in the absence of the Administrator of Re-Entry Services.
Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in the social services field, plus at least 2 years experience working in a criminal justice agency with a minimum of 5 years overall work experience. Very strong organizational skills, along with a demonstrated ability to work in a manner that is respectful of individuals and families who have been involved with the criminal justice system, as well as correctional staff are important. Individual must be comfortable working in a jail environment, have excellent interpersonal and group facilitation skills and an understanding of the Jail and community agency resources.
