The purpose of this position is to provide prompt, courteous attention to individuals who contact the facility by phone or in person and to serve as a primary contact to residents and their families. An essential function of this position is to create and maintain positive relationships with residents, guests and vendors and to provide prompt and accurate information about daily scheduled events to residents, staff and guests.
High School diploma or G.E.D. and ability to read, write and speak English, including ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions required, ability to speak and understand Spanish desirable.
Able to format and compose documents and spreadsheets using Microsoft Word and Excel, proficient in Outlook including calendar and contact functions. Proficiency and experience in preparing and distributing meeting minutes and basic memos, and in use of basic office machines including but not limited to copiers, scanners and faxes.
Past experience and proficiency with basic clerical functions such as filing, invoice verification, payroll, deposits and ordering and reconciliation of orders.
Ability to muti-task and to stay calm and courteous under pressure.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds occasionally. Must be able to sit for extended periods of up to 4 hours. Requires finger, hand dexterity, visual and aural acuity. Position requires occasional standing, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching.
Minimum of 1 year prior experience as a receptionist or secretary in a residential or healthcare setting..
