Provide for the physical and psychological needs of clients, including: physical safety, hygiene, clothing, food (cooking when necessary), medical care, a reliable and nurturing environment.
Assist in the organization, operation and oversight of seasonal activities assigned to such as: Therapeutic Sports, Ski and Snowboard program, Summer Recreation and Prevocational programs, Expressive Arts, Experiential Wilderness Education (PACK), Clubs programming, Bike programming, Swimming Pool operations and Agency special events.
Plan and implement therapeutic programmed activities for clients in recreational programs:
Assess individual and group needs for activities programming, including family- and community-based approaches with clients.
Provide schedule of activities and back-up plans, including objectives and materials needed for each activity.
Maintain all written records and documentation, such as receipts and vouchers, to ensure staying within recreation activities budget.
Maintain recreational supplies and inventory, ordering necessary supplies as needed while staying within budget constraints.
Provide leadership to volunteers or youth aides and/or assigned child care staff to ensure adequate planning, structured activities, and staff/client ratios.
Work with staff and clients in group settings.
Define and monitor behavioral limits for clients within the program activity.
Maintain the physical order of the activity area/facility.
Maintain written communication as required.
Transport clients in Agency vans as required.
10. Incorporate Agency models like the Sanctuary Model into recreational programming.
This position is per diem
HS/GED required, AAS/BA/BS preferred.
Must have valid driver's license and insurability under Parsons’ insurance provider.
Relevant experience with emotionally disturbed population preferred. Experience planning and facilitating recreational activities preferred.
