Recruiter-Advisor for Veterans

GENERAL STATEMENT: Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Management this full time position is responsible for developing and executing procedures and regulatory requirements with student prospects and applicants who are veterans of the U.S. Armed Services. Considerable local travel will be required. Veterans are encouraged to apply.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Communicate standard benchmarks for requirements for adult students, transcripts, letters of recommendation, essays, etc.
Develop a communication flow for veterans who are prospective students to describe how their veteran benefits will apply to a PMC education, PMC requirements for high school or college grades. Research and make recommendations on how ACE approved credit will be received by PMC
Serve as a resource for members of the PMC community on veterans benefits
Render and communicate admission decisions for veterans, and/or advise other admission professional on admission decisions they may be making.
Process or oversee the process of assisting veterans in requesting, obtaining, and maintaining their educational benefits
Develop resources among colleagues who can assist or provide guidance, i.e. professional development seminars, trainings, etc.
Manage the recruitment and admission process for all applicants who have been honorably discharged from all branches of the U.S. Armed Services
Regularly schedule and visit community colleges, recruitment events, fairs, etc., meeting with and advising students interested in enrolling at PMC.
Plan and execute regular on-campus events for veterans who are prospective students, and, if appropriate the children of veterans who may have veterans benefits.
Develop and execute a plan to remain in regular contact with veterans who enroll at PMC.
Maintain meticulous data in admission system or other PMC databases.
Related duties and responsibilities as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree or the equivalent in work experience. Facility with database management and MSOffice Suite; Ability to travel locally; will need access to a personal vehicle for local travel; must have a valid driver's license; Well-developed verbal communication and written communication skills; Ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities; Strong leadership and team building skills.
