**Note: This position must sit in the greater Michigan area and requires travel to the Detroit area 4 days/week.
We are currently seeking candidates for the role of: Region Director—Healthcare Supply Chain (Michigan).
Plan, execute, and oversee implementation of performance improvement strategies to maintain and renew products/services in existing accounts, document high level of customer validated savings as well as assist in expanding current accounts product lines and business solutions. This position will consult with hospitals and health systems to achieve breakthroughs in cost reduction and operational, supply chain and/or clinical process improvement using consulting expertise and supported by Premier’s data products and services.
This position will integrate clinical and supply chain data to identify resource utilization opportunities that will assist in physician preference, drug and clinical supply cost reduction opportunities. This role will also partner with subject matter experts across Premier to leverage the clinical and operational data to drive improvement with assigned members and help facilitate knowledge transfer across the Premier portfolio of accounts.
Maintain product and service knowledge and technical competency in all products offered through all business units.
Utilize data and process improvement strategies to support the customer’s quality and cost (FTEs and supply chain) improvement goals.
Combine clinical data (QualityAdvisor/Operations Advisor/Safety Surveillor) with supply chain data to identify areas for performance improvement in resource utilization including the business and clinical case for physician preference cost reduction strategies.
Complete projects (analysis, presentation, engagement with member team) in conjunction with Premier supply chain team and member to attain a minimum of 3:1 ROI on all tools utilized.
Develop, implement, track, report (routinely to customer) customer specific account plans which successfully lead to high customer satisfaction and validated savings.
Strategic account planning in conjunction with RVP and other customer stakeholders
Troubleshoot, triage, and escalate customer issues and follow through resolution
Present benefits, business results and ROI of products/services (validated savings) at least quarterly
Work with customer on how to effectively use the data products
Educate customers on how to run reports, perform analysis, and identify opportunities
Identify and coordinate appropriate Premier resources (FFS and value add) to support hospital in achieving goals.
Participate on customer teams (readmissions, surgery, etc…))
Maintain and strengthen executive relationships throughout the member
Support corporate initiatives including (but not limited to) QUEST, Partnership for Patients in order to assist the hospital in gaining full value of the program and to enable hospitals to reach established high performance levels.
Oversee product implementation (overall project management)
Work with the implementation team to understand project plan and work plan details including timelines, tasks, resources, etc. in order to facilitate successful implementation with the customer
Work with key stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations
Point of contact to communicate any changes in project plans, status, timelines and issues
Lead problem resolution to ensure customer expectations are met
Update monitoring and tracking tools, administrative reports such as salesforce.com, account plans, time and expense reports
Prepare, update and monitor validated savings reports
Follow up on billing and accounts receivables for assigned clients
Assist RVP with revenue and expense projections and account profitability
Participate in cross functional teams across Business units as requested
Staff Management and Development
Track and inform team of progress towards goal achievement implementing counter-measure strategies as needed to reach goals
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) required
Business, engineering, healthcare management, or related discipline
10+ years industry experience to include:
performance improvement consulting (clinical and/or operational (supply and labor),
recent practical healthcare or hospital experience
analytics and reporting (interpreting large data sets and integrating, manipulating and reporting out on analyses)
