The Regional Consumer Insights Manager plays a key role in driving the growth of the regional business by influencing the strategies and investment choices based on deep consumer and market understanding.
SCOPE/ DIMENSIONS OF ROLE
This role is responsible for the leadership of the Consumers Insights in the Latin America Region. This is a large and important Region for Reckitt Benckiser (RB) and is charged with disproportionate growth for the company.
The work in this role will focus on winning in the market place, by identifying the right growth consumer segments, making our brands & innovations more appealing to consumers.
Reporting is to the Consumer & Market Insights(CMI) Director - LAPAC Area (based in Singapore) - the successful candidate will become a key member of the LATAM team working closely with the Regional Senior Vice President, Country Managers, Finance and Marketing Directors.
Key partners and stakeholders will be the regional marketing directors and managers , the Category CMI teams and other Regional CMI Managers in the LAPAC Area.
v Have a deep understanding of consumers in the countries of LATAM across categories, and be the Consumer Insights and Knowledge champion in the region
v Strong focus and involvement in managing the business, brand activation and NPD pipeline, reviewing business objectives with regional and country management, in order to develop, manage and analyse learning plans to best meet them
v Provide leadership within local and regional business teams to generate actionable insights from research results, contributing to practical action plans following research
v Learning Plans: Leverage global standard and consistent methodologies in partnership with global external partners (BASES, Millward Brown, IPSOS, TNS..), and identify appropriate learning plans to meet the regional business needs.
v Research budget management: plan and manage the regional CMI budget with input from the country and regional management, and guidance from the Area CMI Director - LAPAC
v Supplier management: develop strong relationships with global and regional external research suppliers to ensure superior service and quality
v CMI team: develop and build strong relationships within the CMI organisation, and with CMI directors and managers from the Category, Best Practices and Market Insights within RB.
v Consumer and Market Insights Experiences and Skills:
o 6-8 years experience of CMI leadership in multinational Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), Research Agency experience leading a large multinational FMCG account is also highly considered.
o Proven ability to translate business challenges into business questions, learning plans, research designs, analysis and obtaining actionable insights.
o Experience in learning/research plan development, budget management & priority setting
o Demonstrated experience and skills in market analysis, qualitative and quantitative consumer, shopper and trade research.
v Business and Organizational Experiences and Skills:
o Either multi category or multi country (preferred) CMI leadership responsibility of a large FMCG multinational business in excess of £200m.
o Strong commercial understanding of corporate business and operational models
o Strong understanding of brand building strategy, commercialization plans, revenue & profitability
o Strong proven in market results (revenue, share, equity) of business driven by recommendations and insights from the individual.
v Interpersonal and Managerial Experiences and Skills:
o Results oriented, independent, entrepreneurial and self-motivated
o Leadership and proven ability to influence business decisions and strategies while working with diverse teams.
o Collaboration and demonstrated ability to overcome cultural and location barriers to work effectively with key business partners and stakeholders in a productive environment.
o Excellent English communication skills both written and oral.
Versatility, capacity and mobility, RB is a global business that will require travel and potential future international relocation for other assignments
