Sales Manager is responsible for: managing accounts to achieve guest satisfaction; and ensuring all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded by soliciting past and new business. Requirements include: the ability to effectively communicate with guests in a friendly and positive manner; the ability to meet/exceed client needs and resolve complaints; and knowledge of departmental interaction and organizational structure in a hospitality context.

Organizational Scope : Position is responsible for negotiating room rates and other sales terms for group and banquet catering events. May assist train and supervise sales managers and executive meeting managers. The job will be mostly outside solicitation and lead generation, as well as heavy emphasis on phone solicitation, with strong emphasis on relationship sales. Work will be conducted both from home and on property.
General Duties: Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, networking, internet prospecting, etc) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals. Efforts are to be in compliance with established IHR sales process standards and local guidelines. May provide support and direction to other sales team members for same. Record, notify and coordinate customer specifications with other departments and quickly, efficiently respond to customer issues, comments and problems to ensure a quality experience and enhance future sales prospects. Create and distribute effective internal and external communication (written and verbal) Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market/account trends. May provide support and direction to other sales team members for same.Develop and continually enhance relationships with key meeting planners, business and travel industry accounts. Maintain accurate, legible records and files consistent with established automated or manual sales system. Accountable for achieving business revenue goals in Rooms, Food and Beverage, and Auxiliary Revenues through established Personal Performance Expectations and Activity Goals. Revenue maximization – responsible for effectively managing rooms and catering revenue by utilizing market industry data and knowledge to secure appropriate business to maximize hotel profitability through active rooms and catering yield processes. Technical Acumen: responsible for utilizing sales tools/systems to accurately identify, report, forecast, and communicates sales data. Ensures integrity of sales data by documenting information in Delphi and CI/TY on a daily basis. Utilizes all sales resources and market intelligence to drive business.. Guest Service.
Responsible for client satisfaction by ensuring he client’s needs and concerns are responded to in a courteous and timely manner. Ensures effective communication of client needs from sales to appropriate operational departments. Provides follow-up calls and correspondence to clients to encourage repeat business/customer referrals.
Training: Utilizes available resources and adheres to Interstate training policies. Ensures all company, brand, and department specific training requirements are met.
Self/Workload Management: Responsible for effective self/workload management. Demonstrates clear written and verbal communication skills. Promotes collaboration and positive, professional work environment. Attends all daily, weekly, and/or monthly department/hotel meetings to ensure proper communication/planning occurs. Adheres to all company Standard Operating Procedures. Must be flexible in work schedule as needed.
Safety/Risk Management: Ensures a clean and safe work environment to maintain standards per Interstate, brands, local and state/federal regulations. Follows all Interstate procedures for guest/associate incidents. Knowledgeable of hotel emergency procedures.
Qualifications: Four year college degree or equivalent education/experience. A minimum of one year sales experience in a related position with this company or other
