The Regional Marketing Manager will develop, negotiate, and execute energy transactions that add long-term value. This will be accomplished through an understanding of the counter party's needs and price relationships/quantity values within the Northeast wholesale energy markets, developing new and innovative products, effectively assessing/utilizing internal capabilities/data, and leveraging our capabilities regarding physical energy trading, pricing strategies, financial tools, techniques and other related commodities to arbitrage opportunities between multiple commodities/markets. Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional, working relationships with key market participants such as utilities, power marketers and merchant developers. The Manager will analyze and evaluate complex energy transactions to ensure that all relevant valuations and risk/reward relationships are o consistent with Corporate Risk Management guidelines. Conduct comprehensive assessment of all relevant aspects of the assigned region including regulatory environment trends in energy supply/demand fundamentals, key market participants and transmission dynamics. Provide feedback to management regarding near and long term business potential for the region and work closely with the physical and commodity trading functions to pursue transactions which compliment ER&T overall trading positions. Provide in-depth market information and participate in market assessments for generating asset development/acquisition effort within assigned region. Evaluate supply/demand fundamentals, key market participants and transmission dynamics in addition to providing in-depth market information and participate in market assessments for generating asset development/acquisition effort within assigned region. Approximately 10% intra-week travel within PJM territory U.S. required. Strong PC skills in word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications.
Desired: MBA or advanced degree, or working toward an advanced degree Knowledge of financial risk management methods and hedging concepts. Applicable experience in physical or commodity trading and knowledge of electric power system operations. This is not a trader position.
