Position Description: Regional Merchandising Manager - Meat/Produce
The Regional Merchandise Manager supports the successful execution of perimeter operation (meat, produce and perimeter merchandising) in both Licensed and Corporate stores.
The primary focus is to work with District Managers, Regional Directors, and Licensed ownership to improve execution and increase sales. The Regional Merchandising Manager (RMM) will work directly with Licensees and the retail operations team to improve meat and produce purchase concentration.
Develop and improve relationships with key personnel from Licensed Owner Groups
Collaborates with procurement / merchandising to develop and sell perimeter, meat and produce promotions to Licensees
Coordinate regional variations in perimeter merchandising / promotion and store scripting with the field
Ensure appropriate execution by training and counseling District Managers and store associates on Meat, Produce and Perimeter Merchandising operations in both Licensed and Corporate stores
Assists in the implementation of programs, training and corrective action to reduce shrink
Manage and direct the day to day efforts of the Perishable Counselor to successfully support meat and produce operations in licensed stores
Ensure Food Safety and sanitation standards are maintained consistently in all stores and that Food Safety issues are immediately addressed with licensed operators
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 6-10 years multi-unit management experience or comparable experience
Strong knowledge of retail meat, produce and perimeter operations and ability to sell these programs
Knowledge and practice of food safety and sanitation regulations and requirements
Ability to speak to and train individuals groups on all aspects of perishable operations
Knowledge of retail operations metrics and shrink controls
Strong people leadership capabilities including influencing and building relationships
Demonstrated sense of urgency with the ability to drive and sustain positive change in the organization
