The Regional Vice President is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development in their region to drive Van Meter’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals. They are expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies as well as demonstrated leadership ability to create a results-driven, team oriented environment that supports Van Meter’s purpose to be our customers competitive advantage. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P’s and our purpose to be our customer’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:
  • Overall management and direction of the Account Managers, lighting specialists, sales functions and potential other specialists for their region
  • Create annual plan and establish monthly sales objectives
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales, methods, costs and results
  • Develop and manage sales budgets
  • Participate in the development of new project proposals
  • Establish, communicate, and drive the market and customer strategies
  • Manage and develop key relationships with suppliers and customers
  • Collaborate with purchasing and operations to ensure appropriate inventory levels and reduce obsolete inventory
  • Build successful teams through coaching and mentoring

Required Experience
  • Minimum of bachelors degree required
  • At least 5 plus years sales experience in comparable industry
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Significant knowledge of our industry strongly preferred
  • Excellent negotiation skills to maximize profitability
  • Effective communication skills to effectively represent the company to suppliers and customers
  • Strong business acumen
  • Travel may be required (approximately 25%) for meetings, sales calls, customer events, seminars, etc.
  • This is a higher level leadership position with direct reports
