About the Job
The Relationship Manager is critical to delivering on Key's mission: As financial navigators for life, we deliver solutions to make it easier for clients to achieve their financial goals. Primary focus is to acquire new consumer and small business clients and to expand relationships with existing clients. Develops a comprehensive understanding of client needs by using the Desktop technology to gather and document client data and assess financial needs. Effectively manages clients/book of business by identifying products and services to meet client needs and/or refers to appropriates sales professionals in Retail, Investment Services, Mortgage or Business Banking. Maintains an awareness of competitors' strengths/weakness and product offerings/pricing. Meets or exceeds established sales, cross-sell and referral goals. Participates in and may assist with the coordination of branch promotions by creating and/or organizing campaign material.
Essential Job Functions
Develops and maintains an in-depth knowledge of products and services as well as knowledge of competitors and competitive products. Calls Book of Business and system generated leads to prospect for cross sell and retention; documenting activities by using the call report feature in the desktop. Grows a profitable book of business to achieve individual and team goals. Builds client referral pipeline via identification and development of internal and external centers of influence. Develops new and expands existing client relationships by participating in business development activities, proactively reviewing clients' current and changing financial needs, and promoting products and services. Collaborates with business partners by making referrals and conducting joint calls to deepen the client relationship. Actively listens to concerns, presents a clear concise picture and provides the client with a tailored solution to close the sale. Accurately completes new account documentation and system input according to Key's policies and procedures. Ensures that new customer relationships consistently meet all compliance requirements. Contributes to the branch profitability by participating in branch initiatives.
Required Qualifications
RM I Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in business related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 2 years with experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals and building referral sources. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment. Financial services product knowledge. Understands personal and commercial financial statements. Experience with outside calling. General knowledge of commercial lending to small businesses. Ability to use: PC (MS Windows and Office Products (including Word, Excel, etc.), Desktop.
RM II Qualifications:
Undergraduate degree in business related field or equivalent experience. Hold Series 6 and 63 investment licenses. Minimum of 3-5 years in financial services with experience in developing current and new customer relationships, achieving sales goals and building referral sources. Proficiency in sales and service techniques, including tele-consulting, prospecting and networking. Excellent communications skills and ability to work in a team environment. Strong financial acumen. Understand commercial lending and small business operations. Ability to use: PC (MS Windows and Office Products (including Word, Excel, etc.), Desktop.
