John Hancock Retirement Plan Services (RPS) is a division of Manulife Financial. RPS offers qualified retirement plan products and services for corporate and small to mid-sized businesses located in the USA. RPS is the market leader in the small to medium size market with companies with less than 500 employees.

Key Focus:
The Relationship Manager is an integral part of a three member sales team, who is responsible for effectively managing targeted intermediary relationships.

Partner with intermediaries to insure quality with ongoing service deliverables related to


lan Design;


etirement Readiness;


nvestment Selection;


anaging Administration and


RISA compliance.

Maintain relationships with key intermediaries and identify the opportunities to support: new and existing block of business service commitment to plan sponsors and employees; generate additional revenue through growth and retention of assets under management.

Apply John Hancock product, tools and resource knowledge in order to perform sales functions in the absence of a Regional Vice President for micro/small plans.

Maintain a strong partnership with intermediaries to gain an understanding of their service commitment to plan sponsors and educate them on how John Hancock's tools/resources can support their service commitments.

Identify gaps in the intermediary service models where John Hancock can provide support (i.e. bilingual employee education support)

Develop a thorough understanding of key intermediaries' business models in order to develop campaigns that target retention and growth of John Hancock's in-force block of business; implement asset maximization and retention strategies that influence greater participation, and increase deferral rates and account consolidation.

Function as a liaison to build stronger Plan Consultant/Adviser relationships for the benefit of mutual clients.

Provide customized education and enrollment solutions with the intent of increasing participation and Assets Under Management.

Train advisers and Third Party Administrators and their support staff in the utilization of John Hancock tools and resources to develop best practices that strengthen existing service models.

At least two years of work experience in a sales or relationship management role.

Series 6 and 63 required. Life insurance and variable licenses can be obtained upon hire.

Demonstrated knowledge of retirement plans; retirement plan marketplace, and regulatory implications on the business.

Working knowledge of investments and portfolio analysis.

Excellent time management skills, including the ability to leverage internal resources while traveling independently.

Strong presentation skills, including the ability to present to various audiences.

Demonstrated decision making, problem resolution and negotiation skills.

Strong relationship management and communication skills.

Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
