Supports the various functional labs in the R&D department.
Performs general laboratory tasks such as reagent preparation, inventory, laboratory clean up and organization.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Temperature monitoring - refrigerators, freezers, laboratories, etc.
Maintaining inventories of reagents, consumables, etc.
Maintaining and initiating equipment records.
Ensuring maintenance of lab equipment is up to date.
Following up on equipment issues - misuse, failures, PMs, calibrations, etc.
Ordering and receiving supplies, reagents, samples, etc., and associated record keeping of incoming materials.
Preparation of buffers and simple solutions.
Preparation and running of instrument System Check microplates.
Maintenance of Erenna instruments (including system checks, maintenance of buffer and waste reservoirs, decontamination, etc.)
Stocking of laboratory supplies and general lab cleaning and upkeep.
Maintenance of inventory in freezers and refrigerators, and general inventory organization.
Performs other duties as directed, and assumes additional responsibilities as required.
Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Maintains appropriate laboratory records, notebooks, and other formal company documentation, as required.
Works under general supervision, receiving minimal instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments, and detailed instructions or training on new applications or responsibilities.
Entry level position requiring AA degree in Biological Sciences (e.g. biology, biotechnology, immunology, cell biology, biochemistry).
Familiar with general laboratory environment.
Experience in preparing simple solutions and buffers.
Aptitude for working with laboratory equipment.
Must possess good organizational and time management skills.
