Research Assistant II Position

The goal of our laboratory is to investigate disturbances in the sleep and wake cycle in rodent models of traumatic brain injury. Our approach uses in vivo electrophysiology in mice and voles and complex data post-processing of EEG signals.

Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of computer and information technology work-related experience in either the private or academic sector. They must be familiar with R, the open source statistical programming language. They must have prior experience with digital and analog signal processing, statistical analysis, computer networking, and manipulation of large data sets. Animal handling, surgical experience and immunohistochemistry skills are an advantage but not necessary. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to be creative, highly motivated, work independently and provide specific examples of project management from start to completion, including examples of troubleshooting. This position is available effective December 1, 2013 and is a one-year renewable appointment.
