WAKE FOREST INSTITUTE FOR REGENERATIVE MEDICINE
Full-time Regular, 40 hours/week
The qualified candidate should have successfully completed doctoral training (PhD or MD, PhD) in Biological Sciences including Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology or Genetics. The candidate should have demonstrated interests and productivity in cancer research or stem cell biology and prior training in prostate cancer research will be considered a plus. The primary responsibilities will include:
The post-doctoral fellow will demonstrate high level of academic productivity including peer reviewed publications in high impact journals, abstract presentations at local, regional, national and international meetings, enhance the reputation of the laboratory among peers in the field and play a major role in scientific progress of the laboratory.
The post-doctoral fellow will be encouraged to secure independent extra-mural funding. In addition, he or she will contribute significantly and as needed, to manuscript and grant preparation, animal protocol and regulatory compliance for the laboratory.
He or she will also participate in training, teaching and supervising graduate students, research technicians, residents, students and others in the laboratory. Demonstration of high level of inter-personal skills and satisfactory administrative skills are expected.
The post-doctoral fellow will demonstrate continued commitment to prostate cancer research, which will be aligned with strategic goals of the laboratory. He or she will be allowed academic and research freedom within the constraints of funding and overall goals of the laboratory.
Note: This position contains grant funding which may limit the duration of the job. Specific time frames vary based on the type and length of the grant and will be discussed during the interview.
