Min Qualifications

Ph. D, M.D, D.O., or D.V.M in related field and no experience required.

Job Description:
Conducts innovative scientific investigation by developing theories and devising scientific methods and procedures to apply scientific principles, theories and research in projects related to the mission of UTMB. Committed to the discovery of new innovative biomedical and health services knowledge leading to increasingly effective and accessible health care. Evaluates, selects, and applies standard scientific techniques and procedures while using judgment when necessary to adapt standard methods and techniques.

Salary Range

From $40,000 to $42,000 annually.

Specific Job Related Duties

. Assist the P.I. in developing projects with transgenic mice model of insulin resistance and CRC-based clinical studies in the field of obesity, metabolic syndrome, and diabetes
. Perform all experiments related to the animal model
. Assist with metabolic studies using tracers in both animal models and humans

Location: Preferred Skill/Competency

. Previous experience with surgical procedures on rodents preferred
. Ability to write manuscripts and assist the P.I. in grant writing
. Proficient with MS Word and Excel

Preferred Work Experience

. Experience with CRC-based human studies
. Previous experience with animal studies (especially rodents)
. Previous experience with studies on obesity
