MAJOR FUNCTION Conduct analysis on building energy management and human comfort data. Interface with controls systems to gather data. Conduct and present building performance simulation and analysis for new and existing building projects with local design teams. Create content for web pages, project reports and other deliverables and work products. Assist with lab and studio set up and maintenance, report writing and other grant related activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities, % of Time, Essential/Marginal

Conduct building performance analysis by: 50%, E

Generating measurement and verification plans.

Conducting field work installing data logging equipment.

Assembling presentations and reports related to modeling.

Analysing building energy management software.

Using the IDL heliodon and overcast skybox.

Conducting digital models related to energy efficiency.
Assist with assorted grant related activities by: 40%, E

Completing graphics and layout work necessary for reports and other deliverable products.

Conducting research including contacting similar agencies for information.

Researching the WWW for related information, etc.

Assisting with report writing on findings of research.
Contribute to team effort by: 10%, M

Performing related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Undergraduate degree in engineering.

Basic knowledge of data collection and instrumentation from work experience or academic class work.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Some knowledge of: various 3D modeling software packages, Microsoft Office software.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and perform under tight deadlines.

Physical ability to lift and carry 30 lbs.

Operate a computer and other modeling tools (such as heliodon and overcast skybox) at IDL.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolled or planning to enroll in Graduate Studies in the Dept. of Mechanical Engineering.

Past experience working for an HVAC or design firm or in a building maintenance department. **Employment may be contingent upon satisfactory completion of criminal background or driving investigation.**
