Job Type/Schedule
Position works on an as needed basis. This position requires 5-8 hours on Saturdays and 3-4 hours on Sundays. A total of 12 hours per week maximum required.

Essential Functions
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform weekend/evening routine procedures on research animals, husbandry and PCR for the Mouse Genetics Core. Position involves working in a barrier animal facility involving routine procedures and general husbandry on research animals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assists investigator or higher level technician with research studies, experiments and assays including collection of data, preparation of solutions and set-up and maintenance of equipment.
2. Maintains files on research and assists with data entry.
3. Assists with general lab maintenance and cleaning.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Must be able to work independently, maintain complete and organized records, communicate will with clientele and assist other team members when needed. Candidate must be very adept with computer software.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $10.96 to $14.79 per hour.

Applicant Special Instructions
Works in laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological, chemical and radioactive hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment. Must be able to provide standard care to research animals.
