The Research and Scholarship fellow will spend one year at the World Justice Project in Washington, D.C. work to provide crucial support in the overall development of the Research and Scholarship program. The WJP scholarship program is the research arm of the WJP. It has several initiatives, the most important being the research consortium - a multidisciplinary community of top-tier researchers performing rigorous research to answer critical questions on the rule of law.

The fellow will report directly to the Chief Research Officer. The fellow will assist with research, data analysis, and other long-term projects on the status of the rule of law in different countries as well as on the mechanisms by which the rule of law operates and affects economic and political life. The fellow will also provide general support to the Scholarship program, including managing communications, preparation for meetings and presentations, fundraising, and administrative support.

Fellowship Qualifications:

This fellowship is open to recent graduates with a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA, with excellent attention to detail and superior research skills. The ideal candidate will have completed coursework in economics, political science, policy studies, international affairs, or journalism.

Successful applicants will be bright, highly motivated individuals with a strong academic track record and an enthusiastic interest in the rule of law. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and qualifications: superior research skills, sound analytical skills, and excellent attention to detail; the ability to manage large databases; strong skills in Microsoft Excel; strong writing, oral communications, and interpersonal skills; the ability to communicate in a professional manner both in writing and over the phone; experience working in a fast-paced environment; the ability to work independently as well as in group settings, the ability to manage his or her own workload, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work under deadline pressure.
