Above average management, customer service, and interpersonal skills
Description: The Lawn Specialist diagnosis lawns, trees, shrubs and perennials on residential and commercial properties. Estimates landscape maintenance work. Manages work schedule by supervising technicians and if necessary working on site to complete work schedule. Train work force to produce work equal or exceeding company standards. Enforce all policies in company personnel handbook. Maintain product availability by ordering and organizing as required
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, financial reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate with other employees in English and/or Spanish.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-Diagnosis, Sells and Implements landscape maintenance work including lawn fertilization, lawn weed control, lawn insect control, lawn disease control; tree fertilization, insect and disease control; shrub & perennial fertilization, insect and disease control.
-Sells and implements pruning and animal repellant services.
-Sells and maintains seasonal color planting beds and planters using annual flowers, etc.
-Mantains wood mulch planting beds by installing new mulch and/or applying weed control.
-Sells and implements lawn aeration and over-seeding.
-Refer all other landscape installation work to Landscape Sales Manager.
Prepare appropriate proposals bids, signed agreements, invoices and all other appropriate documents.
-Procure down payments and final payments.
-Visit both residential and commercial potential customers to sell maintenance work.
-Visit both residential and commercial customers to confer and provide guidance for current or future maintenance work.
-Studies products and equipment to broaden perspective and implement innovative sales strategies.
-Reviews market trends and preferences of clients to develop new income possibilities.
-Confers with supervisor and/or customer for approval of any changes, obtains customers signature on all Change Orders.
-Assist office staff in maintaining all property records of clients in Clip or Active accounting software.
-Performs scheduling, material procurement, mobilizing of crew and/or equipment and other related duties when necessary.
-Participate in management and marketing meetings as required.
-Attend trade shows or other industry functions as appropriate.
-Continue to collect knowledge required.
-Any other related duties as required.
