Rivers|Midlands Campus is a 59-bed comprehensive residential
treatment facility for children and adolescents providing treatment
for psychiatric and chemical dependency related illnesses. We
organize our treatment around helping children and teenagers remove
barriers and develop interest in their futures and career
aspirations. Our therapeutic model is collaborative; working with
families, patients and agencies to maximize therapeutic goals and
individual treatment. Three Rivers|Midlands Campus
currently has a 2nd Shift and a 3rd Shift Full Time
Residential Counselor position available. 2nd Shift is from
3pm - 11:30pm and 3rd Shift is from 11pm - 7:30am. The

candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
  • Residential Counselor position requires every other weekend
shift rotations
  • Serves as a role model for residents to
observe and learn socially effective values, attitudes and behaviors.

  • Ensures environment remains safe and normative culture
remains positive throughout facility.
  • Contributes to
formulation, implementation and revision of the resident individual
treatment plan (ITP).
  • Promotes development of residents'
daily living skills through appropriate assignment, instruction, and
supervision of tasks.
  • Provides appropriate crisis
intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to
escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse
the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following
proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral
  • Ensures optimal communication by relaying
pertinent resident care information for change of shift report, team
logs, communication books and complex staff meetings.


The following are the job requirements for the Residential

Counselor position:
Bachelors degree in
psychology or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of direct care
experience working with adolescents and children in a
residential/educational/juvenile setting.
Requires valid SC
Drivers License.
Requires ability to work in a fast-paced
Must possess knowledge of therapeutic
relationships, therapeutic processes, adolescent growth and
development, limit-setting and behavior management, CPI and CPR.
