Offering an exciting and well-rounded experience in Student Affairs, the Residence Director is responsible for developing a residential community in a first-year or upperclass residence hall. Reporting to the Director of Residential Life, the Residence Director utilizes a team approach and exercises sound judgment to facilitate a positive living environment on Union’s traditional residential campus. Acknowledging the diversity of the student body, the Residence Director works proactively toward creating a community atmosphere in which people respect each other’s rights, cultures, and sensitivities. Within a developmental framework, the Residence Director identifies and articulates student needs and issues and collaborates with the Residential Life student staff to provide an effective institutional response. Regular office hours are required and visibility to the campus community and student body is important. Some evening & weekend hours will be necessary. This is a full time, 12 month position.
The Residence Director will also hold a 10 hour/week adjunct assignment in another Student Affairs office. This assignment will be made in coordination with the Director of Residential Life. The specific responsibilities will be detailed once a candidate is selected and will focus on combining the skills of the Residence Director with the strategic needs of the Student Affairs division.

Qualifications: Master's degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling or related field required. Full time experience in Student Affairs preferred.
