Seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual that will assist with the certification of hazardous area products in accordance with worldwide standards and directives. The individual will provide guidance to engineering staff on hazardous location compliance requirements and pressure vessels. The individual will work closely with product design teams to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables in support of business goals and objectives. The individual will work with North American, European Union, and other international regulatory and testing authorities in efforts to achieve world-wide product compliance. The successful candidate will have the following work experience and skills:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science Degree from a recognized University.
  • Required: 4+ years of experience in compliance, electrical safety or explosion proof compliance designs
  • Required: 4+ years of demonstrable experience in certification and/or design of electronic or mechanical products (e.g. managing a project through a certification agency).
  • Required: 4+ years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Design
  • Certification knowledge – Issuing Declaration of Conformity, support of EMC testing, familiarity of protection methods for equipment used in hazardous atmospheres (i.e., intrinsically safe, explosion proof, purged), and/or pressure vessel compliance.
  • Solid reasoning skills (e.g. ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions).
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally. Travel expectations are considered light
  • to moderate as the work required to gain compliance may require on site involvement at various NOV and agency locations as well as drilling rigs. Desired Competencies: Leadership and Project Management skills. Software packages or technologies: Working knowledge of standard office and CAD tools Excellent Oral and Written communication skills. Familiar with standard engineering practices related to manufacturing.
