JOB TITLE: Risk Management Operations Improvement Coordinator

Position Purpose

Organizes, coordinates and reports on Risk Management and Patient Safety program activities and workflow.

Responsibilities
Collaborates with multidisciplinary team on problem identification, resolution, and cost containment issues.
As assigned by the Director of Risk Management or designee, assists with investigations of reported safety events to include the following assignments:
  • Prepares timelines of care with standard criteria developed by CSM's Event Response Team.
  • Gathers and maintains contact information for all witnesses and potential witnesses to care, providing a synopsis of information.
  • Assures that every investigation managed by this position moves forward within expected time frames.
Serves as an organization-wide resource and coach for nursing unit directors with initial Safety Event investigations.
Works with the Risk Management Director and Ascension Health to capture and evaluate data for submission to the organization's self-insured and commercial insurance programs.
Independently receives and prepares the certificates of insurance database for filing mandatory excess liability premiums for Wisconsin Injured Patient and Family Compensation Fund.
Qualifications
-- Bachelor's Degree in a Human Service field including risk management and/or claims investigation
-- Associate's Degree in a healthcare field, and a minimum of two years experience monitoring and documenting care provided by candidate and by other providers
-- Knowledge of insurance terminology preferred
