The primary duties of the Roadway/Civil Engineer is to serve in a technical role, under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural roadway, utility, and site development projects. Duties also will include overseeing the work of CAD Designers and junior level staff. Duties will include preparing detailed engineering designs for roadway and site development projects. Project involvement will range from site feasibility analysis to final design and through the construction phase. Experience should include urban streets and roadways, with experience on multi-disciplinary and complicated downtown projects a plus. Also urban and rural highway interchanges, traffic calming and bike/ped facilities, and planning. Experience with drainage and utilities, accessibility, and other complications of urban infrastructure a plus. May also assume some project management duties including coordination of subconsultant work and interface with clients and the public. BSCE. PE preferred or ability to obtain within one year. 5+ years experience in roadway design, with experience on urban projects Experience with MassDOT and/or City of Boston or eastern Massachusetts projects a plus. Demonstrated hands-on experience using AutoCAD (required) and Civil 3D (preferred) MS Office knowledge required. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
