Responsibilities: Primary Purpose:
As a leader of a significant part of the organization a BIS Manager has responsibility for an area of work. They set direction by translating BIS strategic goals and objectives into plans and deliverables for their team. Managers influence policy, initiate and lead technical and business change. By setting direction, goals and performance metrics they are accountable for business objectives being delivered on time and within budget.

As a Manager of people they are responsible for communicating expectations, monitoring performance of the team, providing continuous coaching and feedback, completing the performance review process, mentoring the development of direct reports, evaluating staffing levels, recruiting, hiring and corrective performance feedback and action.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the liaison and leader for the SAP Technical Basis between the SAP Implementation, our Global Organization and our Hosting Partner
  • Support the SAP business systems environment including all landscapes and connected peripheral systems.
  • Act as the single point of contact with our SAP Hosting Partner
  • Ensuring technical standards are put in place to ensure system availability
  • Participate in periodic disaster recovery testing.
  • Satisfy internal and external audit requirements as required.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve SAP system problems.
  • Maintain documentation of SAP business system support procedures.
  • Keep BIS management informed of progress and problems informally throughout the year, and formally via periodic project status reports.
  • Keep current with emerging trends in the information technology industry.
  • Work to create an environment that fosters positive and open communication.
  • Demonstrate comfort in fast-changing environments; take appropriate risks and encourage new approaches.
  • Staffing, Career Development and performance management of the team
  • Presents information on projects, initiatives or other subjects to peers, teams and upper management
  • Provide ongoing reconciliation between long-term goals and short-term goals
  • Assumes a leadership role in educating the business and IT community on their areas of expertise and responsibility as appropriate
  • Manage onshore and offshore resources
Qualifications: Education/Training/Experience:
  • A minimum of 7years of relevant IT or business/industry work experience.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Professional IT certifications relevant to the Manager’s position preferred, and may be required.
Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
  • Understanding of system/software development life cycle
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications
  • Ability to challenge and provide alternative solutions to custom development
  • Ability to work with both onshore and offshore development resources
  • Understanding of business processes being supported by ERP application
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on an existing suite of complex applications
  • Working knowledge of ASAP methodology
  • Understanding the basic elements ABAP, Java, BSP, HTML
  • Understanding of a wide variety of SAP components such as ECC 6.0, SRM, BW, Open Text
  • Understanding of integration between SAP and eCommerce capabilities
