Raritan, NJ, USSCIENTIST - CELL THERAPY-8115121025DescriptionDescriptionJanssen Research & Development, L.L.C., a Johnson & Johnson company, is recruiting for a Scientist - Cell Therapy, to join the BetaLogics group located in Raritan, NJ.Janssen Research & Development, L.L.C. develops treatments that improve the health and lifestyles of people worldwide. Research and development areas encompass novel targets in neurologic disorders, gastroenterology, oncology, infectious disease, diabetes, hematology, metabolic disorders, immunologic disorders, and reproductive medicine.The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing methods characterizing human cells to be used in a cell therapy for diabetes. The position is responsible for a range of analytical methods that monitor cellular protein and gene expression profiles and will entail 'hands-on' daily work.

The candidate must demonstrate technical expertise and have extensive experience with basic methodologies for flow cytometry, RT-PCR, multiplex ELISAs, immunofluorescence, and cell imaging. Demonstrated skills and experience in analytical methods for process development, potency assays, and technology transfer are required. The candidate will maintain accurate records, perform data analysis, and communicate results through written and oral summaries to a cross-functional team. He/she will interact with different internal and external support groups to facilitate progress.

A strong command of spoken and written English is required with demonstrated proficiency in authoring batch records, SOPs, and reports. Familiarity with relevant publications and patents in the field of regenerative medicine is a plus. A key responsibility in this role will include project leadership and supervisory skills, with past experience being a plus.QualificationsA minimum of a Bachelors degree in Biology or a related life science area with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry OR a Masters degree in the above disciplines with 6 years of relevant experience OR a PhD with 2 years of relevant industry experience is required. Experience with cell-based assays and analytical methods are required.

A specific focus on process development and technology transfer is also required. Experience with drug discovery and development practices and project support in a large pharmaceutical setting or related industry setting is also required. This individual must be independent, self-motivated, and innovative. He/She must be able to excel with goal-oriented projects and be multifaceted in a fast-moving team environment.

Outstanding leadership and communication skills, both written and oral, are required. A successful track record of collaborating across cross-functional scientific teams is desired. This position will require strong organizational and planning skills, ability to work with complex 'cause & effect' relationships, and an ability to make decisions without extensive supervisory input.
