Guthy|Renker Fulfillment Services is seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator for our IT Department in Arden, NC. The Qualified candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and validation of the system infrastructure for both the corporate and production networks. Coordinates and implements numerous large and small scale technical projects, assisting in the creation of strategic and long term planning, and participating in a 24x7x365 on-call support rotation. Responsible for all Windows servers, server-side software to include infrastructure planning, system monitoring, contingency planning, security, performance tuning, software distribution, Internet connectivity, and production support. Implements and maintains Microsoft Exchange 2007 and 2010 systems. 2. Configures and deploys servers and related equipment's. 3. Configures and deploys HP servers. 4. Configures and deploys VMware vSphere 4.0/5.0 infrastructure. 5. Configures and maintains EMC & NETAPP SAN infrastructure. 6. Maintains and coordinates servicing of all network connected servers and peripherals. 7. Designs, implements and validates system and network infrastructure for both development and production. 8. Provides recommendations and technology-based solutions to business requirements. 9. Creates documentation of server systems, operational procedures, topology, and hardware / software inventory. 10. Maintains and coordinates servicing of all network connected servers and peripherals. 11. Troubleshoots, analyzes and resolves system and user problems. 12. Rapidly deploys fixes to systems in response to newly identified stability and security threats. 13. Maintains regular and reliable attendance. Other Responsibilities14. Job Requirements (Evaluation Factors: Skills, Knowledge, Experience, and Ability)1. SKILLEducation/Knowledge Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field of study and a minimum of 5+ years of IT experience. Strong knowledge of TCP/IP required. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server Operating Systems required. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft systems including, Active Directory and Exchange 2007 and 2010 required. Knowledge of Microsoft best practices for design of Active Directory and Exchange. Knowledge of VMware Virtual Center and vSphere 4.0/ 5.0 strongly preferred. Knowledge of UNIX and Linux desirable. Knowledge of backup methodologies and backup technologies. Knowledge of Data Center storage environments including the following technologies: SAN, FC, iSCSI, and NAS.Experience Requires up to six months on the job to become minimally proficient. Five to seven years proven experience supporting IT systems2. INITIATIVEComplexity of Duties Work is highly complex, assessing needs and making determinations on situations that can change constantly. Requires the ability to leverage a thorough understanding of the interactions between systems to not only troubleshoot problems, but also identify performance-tuning opportunities. Supervision Received Works under general direction from the Global Service Delivery Manager/Guthy|Renker. Manages time by setting goals and objectives. Refer large capital expenditures, large system change decisions, and client access determination to Global Service Delivery Manager/Guthy|Renker. 3. EFFORTResponsibilities for Accuracy Errors may involve suggestions for major expenditures on equipment or software that is not suitable to the needs of the organization, or evaluating data on which management makes important decisions.Contact with Others Requires contact with all other members of management as well as IT staff. Contact with clients to discuss system connectivity. Confers with software or equipment vendors to discuss software or hardware needs. Confidential Data Position requires access to all computer applications which contain confidential business information such as reports, records and salary information. Knowledge requires exercising a high degree of professionalism and integrity. Mental and/or Visual Demand Focused mental attention is needed in the development and analysis of system needs. Ability to make decisions and understanding the systems and technologies to handle or prevent service disruptions or reported issues to include repairing or making changes to lessen the impact that could cause loss of revenue.4. WORKING CONDITIONSEnvironment Computer work requires sitting 80% of the time. The remainder of time is spent walking, standing, or carrying material. Normal alertness required in performance of work. Maintains favorable working relationships with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximizing employee morale, productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.The incumbent must be able to work in a structured, fast-paced, multi-task, deadline oriented, stressful and demanding environment.
