ServiceNation, a coalition of more than 275 service-focused nonprofit organizations, has internship opportunities available for spring and summer 2012.

We work in cooperation with the public, private, and non-profit sectors to create a national conversation around service and to increase opportunities for all Americans to serve. One of ServiceNation's programs is Mission Serve, an initiative to mobilize citizens to activate members of the civilian, veteran, and military communities in community service with and for each other.

Interns will work in one or more of the following areas:
Writing, research, and communication in support of major service projects
Assist with event organizing
Partnership outreach and development Tracking veterans affairs policy and media
Social media and blogging
General needs that arise to support ServiceNation

Successful candidates will have:
A passion for service
A basic understanding of (or willingness to learn about) military and veteran culture
An strong interest in learning more about service and volunteerism
Strong communication and writing skills
Strong organizational and research skills
Experience with social media and blogging preferred
Experience with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint

LOCATION: Downtown Washington, DC

COMPENSATION: Unpaid

DURATION: We ask for a 3-4 month commitment, either full time (30-40 hours per week) or part time (10-25 hours per week).
